Concerning the Scholarship

Funding is available to deserving foreign students enrolled in graduate or undergraduate programs in Japan through the Sato Yo International Scholarship Foundation. The scholarship relieves financial burdens while encouraging students to pursue academic and research excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, students must:

• Be privately financed (self-funded) international students
• Be currently enrolled or accepted into a university in Japan for October 2025 or April 2026 intake
• Secure a control number from the university’s International Student Affairs or Student Support Division
• Prepare required documents including resumes, academic transcripts, research plan (for graduates), and a recommendation letter.

Doctoral students are also required to submit an evaluation letter from their supervisor

• Graduate-level research (Master’s and PhD)
